WHERE:

232 Madison Ave, New York, NY

WHEN:

March ~June, 2022

232 Madison building, built in 1925, still had a 20s floor layout; small rooms were clustered on the perimeters and blocking sunlight, views coming into the deeper interior space.  The interior finishes were replaced in the 90s and looked old and dusty.  As she renewed the rent with a young tech company, the owner of this building decided to renovate the outdated main lobby and the top floor into an open, minimalistic space in a mix of Modern &Industrial Styles.

On the top floor, we demolished a few small rooms to create a modern open plan so that the tenants could easily communicate and enjoy the outside views and sunlight through windows on the perimeters.

In both the lobby and the top floor, we integrated simple, clean geometries and lines in layouts and incorporated industrial materials such as polished concrete, black metals, and exposed beams to create minimalistic, industrial, modern spaces. We also accessorized them with brown and yellow furniture, wooden accessories, and art to create a more warm, inviting, and vibrant atmosphere for young tenants in the tech field.
