Since the early 1900s, Webster Apartments has been an affordable student housing that provides opportunities and safety for students who moved to Manhattan.

Our client wanted to renovate the dated interior space to attract more new student tenants.

 To honor the history of Webster Apartments and the stories of all who have found sanctuary and opportunities in this place, we designed the interior space to evoke feelings of nostalgia, optimism, and elevation. We integrated the existing mid-century modern style elements with a new contemporary materials & architectural details. We also demolished walls and created an open floor layout to encourage interactions and to enhance connectivity. 
Amicus House will be renovated as a modernized new aspirational space for students who come to NYC.
